Read and Write
Does anybody read anymore? Who has got the time? For that matter who has the quiet? Surveys have been done that show how few people read in this age of visual assault. My generation and the others that have followed after have been raised by television, that one-eyed baby sitter that pacifies, cajoles, and numbs our minds and hearts until we sink into an intellectual stupor. Certainly this is why so many seeker-sensitive churches use the visual arts to draw people that live in a world of sensory overload. Now I am not saying that this tactic is wrong, just that sadly, in our age to some ways of thinking it has become necessary, and maybe it has.
Yet do these forms of communication lead us to think more deeply, live more richly, and express more clearly what we do or do not believe? We have been fooled into thinking that what we need is an experience, more special effects, or a place to hid from this world of plans, goals, and pressure. But how is it then that we effect the culture around us. What is it that challenges us to grow, to think, to do what we are called to do?
It is here that you will find writings of a deeper nature. You may not agree with them, that is fine if you don't. It is healthy to confront, dispute and consider, not only what others in the body of Christ believe, but what we believe ourselves.
And guess what if you have something to say in response, or for that matter have something to say let us know.
Yet each submission must be theologically sound, non-divisive, and holding to, and in keeping with this ministries statement of faith that can be found by navigating to the About Us tab and reading the article under the heading What We Believe".
Read on you champions of thought and let me know what you think!
